First thing I did this morning was check on my website, haha. It’s a very liberating experience as a software developer — especially one who has most of my experience with web dev — to have my own playground to do whatever I want and showcase it freely.

Hell, I am finally able to host webismanycolors after, like, almost 2 years. No free option is willing to host an .mp3 on a static site, not even GitHub Pages! Sure, I could have paid NeoCities, but that’s a lot of regular upkeep for a site I barely used at the best of times. As much fun as it is to make a site from scratch, having all the tools at your disposal and using them is how you make a GOOD website. I’m still attached to my old portfolio, but it’s extremely scuffed. Hard to update, clunky, and inefficient. I suggest checking it out if you’re interested, and it certainly wins over this new site in the charm department, but… man, this is just so much nicer. The modern workflow is truly a blessing, haha.

I’m just sat here wondering what I should do with this site now; I’ve got a new portfolio that’s easier to update, a blog I can freely and easily post to, and an art gallery for the stuff I’m proud of, but I’ve got 25 whole gigs of storage. Maybe I could transfer my lore wiki to this domain? Then I wouldn’t have to worry about deactivations. But on the other hand, this website as it is, seems to be having the occasional 502 Bad Gateway error and I have not the slightest clue as to why, so that might be a priority to iron out before I add much more. Need to do some deeper digging for that, because I can’t find anything with surface level research.

Anyway, what to do today… Probably going to make myself finish those stickers for the Yomi merch store, I’ve been almost done the lineart for weeks now, and I just need to make myself do it, I think.
