Ever since I learned that people made video games, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. It may have taken a little bit to get to this point, but with a Game Design & Development degree (almost, just some Summer classes :D) and a whole lot of hands-on experience over the past few years in both game modding and standalone development, I feel more ready than ever to take on the world!
My first real development project was a mod for the Fabric modloader for Minecraft named "Berry's Mod." It added a variety of food items and storage blocks using the game's Sweet Berries which, at the time, went woefully unused. A few years later, during Summer break between college terms, I made an untitled Terraria mod, which was very nearly finished before I ultimately decided to drop it. Despite that, it added an entire new class of ranged weapons and a means to challenge previously fought bosses for rewards! It's a shame I never finished that one, though at the same time I don't know if I had the heart in it to rewrite the whole thing every time Re-Logic updated the game :P
Then, in early 2023, a game dropped that changed my life forever. Your Only Move Is HUSTLE captivated me in a way that no other game quite had (or really, ever has since). Over the next 3 years, I would dedicate myself to learning Godot Engine and making mods for the game, almost all of which I am still proud of to this day and have taught me invaluable lessons about development on both a micro and macro scale. I still have hopes to create one last mod for that game before I finally graduate to full-scale game development.
Today, I work part-time at a software firm specialized in print production and variable storefronts while I wrap up my degree, and in my free time, I've been preparing to make my first real game. Exciting times lie ahead :3
